Arab and World Media Conference

Top journalists and media executives from around the world will join their Arab colleagues at the invitational gathering in Dubai on the 5th and 6th of December 2005. Delegates will discuss changes in the Arab world, build relationships, validate assumptions, develop a deeper understanding of the region, and make sure they are Getting it Right.

The format will be highly interactive, led by provocative moderators, who will elicit candor and manage debate about complex questions, including:

How has media contributed to the creation of political reform in the Arab world?
Is democracy really spreading in the Arab world, or is it politically-motivated propaganda?
Coverage of the Arab world is often reported in 'black and white' -- what realities lie in between?
How can journalists deal with censorship and propaganda to report a more accurate story?
How have citizen journalists and the speed of new media changed the newsroom?
What are the next major flash points in the Middle East?
What really determines Page One news?
What are the biggest ethical dilemmas journalists face?
